Our coaches are dedicated to providing young amateur and professional hockey players the opportunity to develop and improve their skills and to help them reach the Elite level of hockey.
Jon CalvanoFounder and Program Director
Coach Calvano has been developing players since 1998 and is currently General Manager of the North West Giants Major Midget AAA Team .
Prior to going the Rivermen Coach Calvano was Assistant GM and Associate HC of the Langley Rivermen of the BCHL , General Manager and Head Coach of the Coquitlam Express of the BCHL, Coach Calvano enjoyed tremendous success coaching the North West Giants of the BCMM AAA League were he won three Provincial Championship and in the Macs Midget AAA Christmas Tournament, lead the Giants to the finals three times, winning the event in 2010.
Calvano’s focus on individual player skills and Individual Tactical Development has helped many players obtain their goals in Hockey with tremendous observation and Coaching.
KEVIN PEDERSONPlayer Development Coach / Private Instructor
Kevin Pedersen is the Head Scout and Assistant Coach for the Vernon Vipers of the BCHL. Before making the jump to Junior A he was an assistant coach at the North Shore Winter Club, winning the 2013-14 and 2014-15 Western Canadian Bantam Champions.
Prior to that, Kevin coached in the BCMML for the Greater Vancouver Canadians. In addition to coaching, Kevin is a respected skills instructor and has been heavily involved in youth player development in the winter and spring seasons in Vancouver.
Kevin has also enjoyed success in scouting working with the Vernon Vipers (BCHL) from 2009-2011, and most recently the Everett Silvertips (WHL) from 2011-2015.
MARK SANTORELLIShooting and Offensive Tactical Coach
Mark Santorelli recently retired from Professional Hockey in Europe due to a Career ending injury. Mark brings vast knowledge and experience with shooting and offensive zone tacticaling.
Mark has been a scorer at every level he has played including Top Scorer in the Western Hockey League, playing Jr B at 15 for the Abbotsford Pilots, and winning a National Canadian Championship with the Burnaby Express of the BCHL prior to leaving for the Western Hockey league.
Mark played his Minor Hockey at the Burnaby Winter club along side his older brother Mike, and that is were Mark obtained all the skills and dedication it takes to get to a higher level of hockey. Mark was drafted by the Nashville Predators in 2007 in the 4th round.
